i quit

Post by smoker »

smoking that is......still dipping and actually dipping more, i love tobacco products and have since i was a wee lad but im not giving 5 bucks a pack for cigarettes. a can of grizzly or red man runs me about 2 bucks and lasts for a couple days, maybe a day and a half cause i keep my dip in forever. but at least im breathing easier. hacked up lots of nastiness for a while after i quit but i think its all out now.

5 bucks a pack is cheap compared to some places.

congrats on quitting. I've done it a few times.

I no longer smoke habitually. I still have a humidor full of cigars tho, and still have them once and a while.

Amen to that bud... My humidor is empty right now... but I'm going to pick up some cigars soon.

ever had a Kristoff? I highly recommend, my humidor has like a third of a box of them left. 2 of them I watched a guy from Kristoff hand roll...

Congratulations Terry!
Guess I'm the die hard smoker of the group now (2-3 packs of Camel Non-filters a day). I am quite happy for you and wish you all the luck beating the habit entirely... I don't endorse smoking and hate to think about kids starting up... Just PLEEEEASE don't turn into one of those high horse, soap box speeching, idiots that feels the need to ridicule those that still smoke... Somebody still has to support another industry from going under :p
By the way, for all of those that don't know... The tax on a pack of cigarettes is over half the price, and if were only taxed like almost everything else it would be around $2.50 a pack after tax still.

They are adding $1.00 to the tax in WI.

I'm pretty sure a pack is going to approach the $6.50-7.00 mark

Yeah, I smoked for about seven years steady. Chewed for a couple as well. When I quit the price was at eleven bucks a pack. And I'd blow through a pack of 25 a day easy. With the help of others of course. I'd dip Scoal Cherry like it was candy too.

If there's a healthier choice of the two, I would have to say it's chew. Good job losing the cigerbutts.
