Well after much debate I finally purchased a bike tonight.

I thought I was settled on the Trek 7000 bike. I was going to buy it new today, but Sunday night I stumbled upon a slightly used Trek 7100. I went and looked at it, it was like BRAND NEW. Literally.

I ended up buying it and getting a CycleOps indoor trainer attachment for free.

I rode it tonight about 3 miles. I need to make adjustments with some tools to the handle bars and the seat. Then Im going for a small ride... If after that no more adjustments Im going for 10 miles.

Im pretty excited. I really need to loose about 50 Lbs. Not to mention the high blood pressure Im experiencing in my old age... lol

I started doing road and mountain biking with my dad last summer. Mountain biking is pretty rough stuff, but I REALLY enjoy the road biking. It's nice to let my joints relax from running for awhile.

I'd say that road biking is probably the most comfortable way to get in shape. You just need to be able to put aside the time to do an hour and a half ride.

Exactly on the road biking. Where I live, there is the town park right across from my place. Theres an old single railroad path thats been transformed into a bike path. It goes for 10 miles to a decent sized city. On the other side of that city it picks back up and goes another 10 miles I think...

Its a nice straight path too. Flat. Rather scenic. Nice and PAVED... lol

I debated on other bikes, but I zeroed in on a Hybrid/Comfort bike with 700c tires. I went the Hybrid/Comfort way as its more comfortable for me to ride. My previous bike was OK for what it was, but it just didnt fit "me" and how I wanted to be positioned on the bike.

Now it seems like most of "us" (family & friends) have good bikes now except my poor Dad... Were heading up to a bike shop to browse... Im hoping he picks up the Trek 7000...

I think the last time I rode a bike was about 10 years ago... :sad017:

I'd like to get a nice one though, it'd be a fun way to get some excersize.

Theres my ride.

Nows the time man. My other bike I rode 5 miles each way and about died.

This bike, first long ride. We did 5 miles each way. Then another 4 mile cruise...

My Dad ended up breaking down and buying a 2009 Trek 7100 today. Mines an 08... Pretty much same bike, different but similar colors.

I used to do a 6.8 mile trip everyday because I got bored if I did it longer when by myself lol. The other week, I did a 14 mile trip and a 16 mile trip. Man, I really start to die after 12 miles.

A buddy I rode with the other day could barely do 6 miles and not much more than 10 mph. It was more fun ripping him the whole time :D ... well that and because he has a Next bike.

Ryan, read these articles before you take that bike out for a decade.
