Need a good, cheap headunit.

I don't need anything really fancy, in fact I rather keep it simple. The only MUST are:

* 4 volt pre-amps

* MP3 Capabilities

* At least a 3 band equalizer and a sub control

Pretty much any head unit these days should cover that. :D

I would like to keep the price around the $150 range. :sad017:

Clarion units

DXZ85USB if you need 3-way xovers and tuning options - they were 139 at one point on newegg

DXZ5585USB if you don't, Ipod hooks right in, no extra cables/adapters.

Even the DXZ385USB has ipod hookups.

Looks like they can be had for super cheap: http://www.amazon.com/Clarion-DXZ385USB ... B0012NBP76

Yes, but the copper coated sheet metal sure makes em look purty... Pioneer 880 Premier.

Maybe its just a bell and whistle he wants, I have no use for an Ipod hookup, but that is just me.

Person preference.... how about that?

I don't have an Ipod, so I don't need to be able to connect one.

I just want a simple system, the focus of the truck isn't going to be the audio. Basically I just want it to be better than stock, not looking for anything to crazy. Coaxials and an 8 or two will be plenty good enough.

Every 4v head unit that I used to replace a 2v one has sounded better. Of course most also had additional controls and were just overall better head units.

So yeah, maybe it's just a coincidence, but I'm set in my ways so F*CK YOU!
