Clarion VX400 questions

Hi all this is also in regards to the previous post but I think I want to drive my friend towards this Clarion HU...

It has the ability to be expanded for Navi which is nice... Has integrated Bluetooth which will be good for him.

And has the back up camera integration that I was talking about before.

My questions are :

1.) Any good or bad news about this unit... Its too new to know too much about it.

2.) Do I have to have him purchase the Clarion Rear View Cam or can I can I buy an add on one that is not a clarion?

I've been steering away from pioneer and clarion a lot lately. I'm sticking to Kenwood and JVC Nav (only there upper level and Nav). Had a few customers with them and the pioneers are just shit anymore constant noise issues the whole Pico Fuse situation. The Clarions were annoying to operate and they felt cheap to me compared to the JVC or Kenwoods.

Whats his budget?

I can get decent deals on higher end units. Mid-low end units can be had cheapest on E bay.

I am trying to seal the deal for less than $900 total...

Must haves: Rear View Cam
Video Capability (DVD, MPEG etc)
Touch Screen
Double Din...

I believe the one line I have would fit these needs, not sure on touch screen though. Pretty sure it has it, sure looks like touch screen buttons but it doesnt spell it out.

Off top of my head I think they run $450-500ish. I think I have a backup camera which is license plate mountable for like $100, maybe less. I briefly seen a backup camera but not sure on price- dont quote me on it

I will get some real prices tonight.

I purchased the VX400 from about 2 months ago and I am having some problems with it. There are two main problems and I do not know what to do or who to contact about them.

1. About every other day the stereo beeps twice and then goes to the startup screen. When it comes back on it has reset itself to the factory settings, but my bluetooth is still paired. It only resets the audio settings (stations an eq)

2. Approximately 5 times the bluetooth stops working. A call will come in and connect, but the mic won't work and no sound comes out of the speaker. If I reset the unit to factory settings and pair my phone again it starts working. I don't know if it has something to do with streaming music by bluetooth?

I use my iphone with the system if that make any difference.

Is this an easy fix or is the unit defective.
