Wiring up a HU to show that its working for a seller

Hey my buddy is selling his Pioneer DVD HU and replacing it with an Eclipse Navigation set up... He has a potential buyer for the Pioneer but the guy wants to see it work. Without hooking it up to the car here was my plan:

Power and Ignition wire to a car battery and the chassis ground to either a ground point on his car or to a big piece of steel or something..

That should get it to work right?

just attach to battery
