Kenwood KFC-XW800F 8" shallow sub

Any thoughts on these. I want to put some bass in the sail panels of my 89 Camaro and these seem to fit the size requirement without much fabrication. A salesman pointed me in their direction for the size requirement and says they do well infinite baffled. I listened to a set in the store that were infinite baffled and they seemed to sound nice to my ear (I know the display is much different than the car interior). With a bit more fabrication, a small sealed enclosure could be built to fit in the same location and hide away pretty nicely.

I'm probably going to pick up a pair this weekend, but haven't decided on an amp yet. It will be just these and a pair of front speakers (maybe components) for the system. I intend to keep the stock looking deck in the car and convert the speaker level out to preamp (any thoughts on a converter or processor for that?)

I'm pretty sure these need to be in a sealed enclosure.
If you do put these where the 6x9's went, I would sound deaden the crap out of that entire area. The sheet metal behind the speakers will rattle/vibrate like crazy, and just sound terrible outside the car.

If you do put these in there, take pics and post them in the showcase. Always nice to see another F-Body owner on the forum :)

Hey, thanks. Plan is to deaden the area as much as possible as you suggest. I listened to these infinite baffled on the display, sounded decent. Salesman there says they do decent in that application and has installed several that way - deaden the outer sheet metal and stuff the area full of dacron. I'd like to use as much of the space in the sail panel as possible to fabricate a sealed enclosure (they require .5 CF), maybe some expanding foam and resin after deadening the area
