kicker dual 4awg ground - ok to use as 4awg to dual 8awg distributor?

Ok long story short, have a HUGE 4awg to dual 8awg distributor that doesn't fit behind the fold down seats in my jimmy

I randomly found this RF RFD4 low profile distributor without fuses and it looks perfect.

1. would this be ok to ditch the fuses? only pushing 500w for subs and 100w RMS for highs.

2. would the contact be the same?

I'm just going to use the ring terminal for the amp ground like I did before until I can get that RF distributor...

wattage has nothing to do with fuses. Do your amps have fuses?

The sony has a 30 amp fuse, and I can't see any fuse on the RF p500-2... From what I understand, it has great protection? Perhaps it doesn't need one? Or it may be internal, I don't know...

I think this a pic of it's guts. I would love to take mine apart and see for my self but I'm not sure how.

If the amp doesn't have a fuse then you need an external fuse on the wire. ditch the block and add an inline fuse if your worried about room.

you also need to make sure you protect yourself from a fire.

8 awg wire shorted out, doesn't pull enough amperage to blow a fuse that is meant for 4awg current (say 100 amp)

Unless you fuse under the hood for the smallest power wire on the circuit, you need fused distribution.
