i need you guys to letme know where to start. what should i be reading and looking out for? i think there is a lot of misinformation with car audio. i dont ever plan on running any subs. i had a 2 channel mono amp hooked up to it. i( i knnow it was not the right amp) and it gave me all the lows i wanted. im looking for cristal clear music if i can get it. and what typr of receiver would you get if you had the money to spend. thanks.

Just another option other than the JBL. I agree with dmeyer on the Alpine, and the KnuKonceptz wiring kit.
would the speaker melt if i hooked up that 104 rms amp to 55 watt rms speakers? i was told its alot better for the speaker if the amp has more than enough watts rms than the speakers handle "best" at. and you can do dammage if the amp if to low rms. is there any truth to that? and what could happen? those speakers i have arnt reallty that good. and i wanna cut 6x9 holes in the rear of the car when i get some money for new speakers and find the right tools. i dont wanna hackk it. i want it to apear somewhat stock.
yeah soory about the spelling guys. i did drop out in 10th grade because i had to. "certain circumstances". hey now i got a better job than a lot of the people who graduated. im gettin like 13 + bennafits. not bad when a Lot of people work at shaws for like 9-10 an hour.
Well you could possibly do some damage to the speakers by overpowering them (but 104 isn't).
Sorry i thought that the rms on those speakers was something around 100 :) .
NO YOU CAN'T DAMAGE A SPEAKER BY UNDERPOWERING IT!
The rms range is something you want to stay inside of. If your over the rms a lil bit thats fine but getting 100 watts over can start causing some problems.
I wouldn't go with 6x9's if i were you, try something mor along the lines of a 6.5, or 5x7's. I haven't heard nor had any good expierences with 6x9's.
Didn't mean to rip on you for the spelling just asking you to put forth some effort to avoid the major mistakes. It makes people want to read your post and help you. lol i duno how to put it, it just looks better on your part :) !

The only thing with underpowering speakers is that people tend to turn it up as loud as they can and even turn up the gain on an amp to "try" to get more power/loudness out of it. These people are fools because they are the ones who allow the speaker to distort and physically kill itself.
Think of power as heat. A speaker can only take and get rid of so much heat. But speakers do like to have a certain amount of power for them to play efficiently.
