Subwoofer controls

Post by SlickRikZ »

Hey everyone, been searching around new head units for a while and can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

I had an older Kenwood (can't remember model) that on the faceplate there was a "SW" button incorporated with the "AM" button that if I held it for a couple seconds it would kill the Pre-outs and shut the Subwoofer off. I can't find anything remotely close to that on the new ones anymore.

So basically does anyone have any suggestions on a single-din unit that lets me either shut the Pre-outs off or kill the Sub?

I use my truck for stereo when we sit around fires and want to be able to just kill the sub without having to put a cut-off on the remote wire.

TIA

Hi,
Welcome to the forum.

Most decks allow you to control the SW level, so there might not be a dedicated switch on the face but you can just turn that level all the way down and it would basically do the same thing.

Your amp will still be on, so be careful of your battery when sitting too long, but its also still on with your current setup.

I'd just throw a switch on the remote wire. Quick and simple.

I'd just wire in a toggle to the remote, that way it'll just kill the amp...
