JVC KD-HDR44 Will not turn on.

Unit installed in 198 Neon. Was working for several years, then alternator went and took out fuse-able liink and battery. All is now OK, all fuses good all interior accessories work, but the head unit will not power up. I tried to reset unit several times but no go. Wat next?

can you take the head unit out and see if their are fuses on the back of it?
and your positive the fuse is good under the dash?

Yes, there is a 10 Amp fuse on back. The problem is this is an aftermarket stereo and I installed it my self yes ago. It slide into a sleeve and I cannot remebmer how to release the head unit from the sleeve, I think I need to slide a knife or two down the sides to release, not sure. Any suggestions appreciated.

looks like there are some clips that go in from the front that must unlatch it and allow you to pull it out.

She is out and the 10Amp fuse is toast. Went to put a new one in snd of course the old one is a pointy nose one and the ones I have are rectangular. Oh Well.

Got herrout and 10 Amp is toast, went to replace but my fuses are the rectangular leg ones and need a pointy leg fuse., off to the store.b
