No power to Deck

I have a Pioneer AppRadio 3... To do some repairs I disconnect the battery terminals on my 04 Chevrolet Avalanche and now nothing comes on... all the fuses are good... plz help. thanks in advance

Hi, Welcome to the forum.
Just to make sure, you've checked the vehicle OEM fuses and also the fuses for the deck?

That seems strange that it's not coming back on. any more info you can give us might help troubleshoot it.

hi, thanks for the welcome & reply... i have not had much time to dive back into it I can say that I have checked all the factors including behind the deck. Also I connected the negative and positive terminals together when i disconnected the battery. not sure how that would be related but when doing so it clears the pcm of any "stored memory" like shift points, fuel & ratios etc... to start from scratch.

Ya, use a multi-meter and check the fuses. You could have one blown, but it just doesn't look like it. I've had that happen before.

yeah unfortunately all the fuses have continuity through out. the aftermarket Wiring harness also has 12v as well as all the way thru up to the raido.

I will add For what it worth that i disconnect the battery terminals and connected the + & - together. i did this because it clears any stored data in the PCM like shift points air/fuel ratio / MAF, 02 sensors etc.... Starting fresh more less but I've done this in other vehicles and the stereos have been unaffected by the process.

If the fuses are all good, and you have +12 on the memory wire and also the main power wire.

Ground appear OK?

I'm not sure about that connecting the wire things together, never had one of these decks before. Is that a documented way to clear the unit?

i connected the battery terminals leads together. kinda documented i guess... I've done some diagnostics and monitoring of my PCM systems that had logged results outside manufacturers recommendations and followed up with that technique & run diagnostics again & and all previous data entries or the "memory" were wiped clean... It doesn't work every time but I've had more success with it getting my stuff runnin better than it had been previously. Beyond that ya know i didn't even think of checking the ground i just started testing for juice. i dug out some schematics on the factory radio wiring tho and power is where it should be. ill have to maybe see if a ground splice was disrupted or something next time i get a minute.

yeah i didn't mean clear the deck by doing that i just threw it out there cuz it was wiring related. I'M going to call Pioneer tomorrow and see about a possible reset or common related internal issues that might have surfaced... I apologize for rambling about the PCM stuff, i mis read your question
