Shivas Dual 8 ohm?

Post by audiobass10 »

Do the Adire Shivas have Dual 8ohm coils? If so that's disapointing because it will cost even more money to find an amplifier to power them at 4 ohms..

its 4 ohm i think, see my Tempest is dual 8 ohm, which is ok i gues, but it is getting hard to find an amp that doesnt cost alot that will give it some power, so far the JBL 600.1 will do fine, which will give it 300rms, or the 1200.1 will give it 600rms, but im goin with the 600.1 i reckon. the Shiva will handle 650rms in the right box. JBL 600.1 will work with it :)

if you got a dvc 8ohm sub just wire it parrallel and get a 4 ohm load, there is no such thing as a amp not being stable at 4 ohms, a LOT of amps arent stable at 2 ohms so you can consider that an advantage.

the Shiva is dual 8 ohm coils.
run a pair of them in straight parallel, and it's a 2 ohm load.
ideal for a 2 ohm stable mono amp.
