wiring problem for sub

i have a hifonics atlas 12sq.. a 13 inch square sub, and the wiring diagram that came with it, doesnt make sense.. i need to know where to route the speaker wire for 4ohm. can anyone help me??

what is the voice coil ohm rating on the sub? what kind of amp are you running it on? what is the minimum inpedence of the amp?

dual 2ohm voice coil, min inpedence is 4 ohms, and im running it on planet audio dx400 amp

You want to series the dual 2 Ohms to get a 4 Ohm nominal.

Put the sub so one coil is on the left, the other on the right.

Now pull some speaker wire so its just one wire on each side, enough to reach each side.

Put one lead on one sides +, the other on the opposites -

Then run just a single piece runner between the leftover + and -

done

does it matter which lead goes back to the amp?

you are basically making the amp see 1 4 ohm load....take the negative of one coil to the amps negative......take the positive of the other coil to the amps positive then run a jumper between the to leads that are left on the speaker..........
