JL w1v2 or JL CS112RG-W1v2

I prefer sound quality, but I still do like hard hitting subs, I just don't want a boom boom distorted sound. I know 150watt RMs isn't great, but its all I can afford ATM. Space is a factor, the difference between all of them isn't too big, but consider it also.

What is the difference between a regular sealed box, and PowerWedge box? Does it hit harder? does it have better sound quality?

The same sub, but one comes preenclosed in a JL powerwedge sealed box.

ALSO, while searching the JL Audio site, I can across a ported powerwedge,

Given my likings, would you guys recommend I just get the sub and get my own box, or would you ugys recomend I go with the ported powerwedge, sealed powerwedge, or even the truckpowerwedge?

it's just a way to get some more money outta there customers. If i wear you, I would just buy the sub, then build your own box to the same specs as the prowedge, and save about 200 or so. Since you want SQ going sealed is the way to go. But you can still sound good while going ported. But since I dunno how loud a single 12w1v2 will get, I'd go ported. tuned to what ever JL says works best.

But I would pass on that sub anyway. I'm sure for the same price as that, which is what round 150-180? I 'd look into a Elevation audio comp, or an RE re series. If you can go ebay, and want JL look into some w6's,should find them cheap. they are old but still sound great and get loud. Look for them in good condition tho, since they are old.

I haven’t really heard to many low powered subs so I can't help you out to much. If you will be upgrading to a more power later on, look into a sub that can handle what you soon will be getting instead of something that works now, but will be gettin rid of it as soon as you get a new amp. Incriminator audio's line of 187's could you suit you nicely at 300 rms I believe. And they a good deal too.

The Resonant Engineering RE series is the undisputed low power king of subs.

For the price, the performance and the low RMS nothing comes close- period.

Under $100 shipped...

Put that baby in a 1.1 cube sealed and it will rock your socks off and sound TIGHT doing so

I'll wager that a Image Dynamics ID will smoke it

. It is a bit more costly, though.

You could add home audio entries like the Peerless XXLS and Dayton Reference subs, too. They're over $100, but offer SOOOOO much more performance.

As I said, for under $100, low power (for little budgets), amount of xmax, and overall quality (SQ, SPL, actual Quality) it is unbeatable.
