Help with WinISD, RE SE 12" box :(

Thanks for your on-going advice Bwcad1 :) .

I want more SPL, but not too much to sacrifice SQ. I want optimal SPL & SQ, lol, this sounds like I maybe want too much, huh?

Take as long as you want! - your advice is vital in my box build.

(Anyone else feel free to jump on in). What about slot ported? Any advice?

if you want more spl and the best SQ id suggest add more drivers cause youll be able to get as loud or louder with keep the distortion lower. if you want really loud and great SQ id say go with 4 RE se12s in about 6-8 cubes tuned to 30hz. should give a decently flat response and get loud.

Are you sure thats not a type o?

Also have you used this new box/metered it?

Why 51Hz? I thought the res freq of the blazer/jimmy thing was 45Hz?

the tuned to 58hz is a type o it was supposed to say 48. thats the peak in winisd and yes im positive its not a type o ill post the graph when i get back home. and the resonant frequency is 48hz but for some reason my truck digs a 54hz tone on 3 diffrent boxes one tuned to 46 on to 48 and another at 50hz it liked the 54hz tone... me and the rest of the team maxxsonics guys at the show were talking and it seems as though the resonant freq we had might have been off. but if we tune the boxes higher than 48 it looses some dbs. hopefully next week when we fully deaden my car the resonant frequency will change and we can tune a bit more. ryan if you have win isd go in do a huge box with alot of port area and look at the graph.

How can I measure the resonant freq. of my car?? What are benefits of tuning my sub box to this freq.?????

You set up an RTA in your car, and play thru a set of freqs till you see where it peaks. The advantage of tuning to that freq is for SPL comps. It alows your speaker, port, and car to work together (in a sence) to acheive the highest SPL you can. This is good for a spl car, but not something most people would want in a daily driver.

you cant unless you have sofisitcated equipment. ur car is the loudest at its resonant frequency you usually tune your car about 3 hz lower than your resonant frequency
