Speakers

Can anyone tell me, can you have two diffrent brands of 6 1/2" speakers sharing the same door? I have midbass speakers in my front doors and would like to put another set in them. Thanks for any input.

as long as you can make them both fit without interfering with the door mechanisms.....yeah you can do that

Thanks Joeyc, i have a 2002 F150 and it has a plastic pouch that runs along the bottom of the doors. I was thinking of cutting the pouch out and making a box in its place. Or should i cut a hole in the panel and mount the speakers in the door for better sound, thanks, Steve.

take the door panel off and see whats down there.. see how deep the speaker is and do some measuring... you could even make a baffle for the speakers so you can have room to work with..

fiberglassed pods, and check the window glass path with glass up and down, along with the rail positions etc so you don't hit that with the speaker and impair the normal door operations.

yeah steven, i have a 2001 f150 myself. i considered something like glass said, there is pics of an install floating around on the internet of exacty that....glass pods that replace the plastic poach like we have. only reason im not doing something like that is 'cause im doing a "stealth" install, trying to look as stock as possible. im going to do kicks
