help! in choosing components

what component system would best fit?

running a mcintosh mc431 bridged (200 watts per channel x 2).
have a jl13w7 (sub) taking care of the low end, but want a 6 1/2 component system that is good in the mid bass (can handle a good amount of power for loud listening) but can sing as well, and really sweet sounding tweeters, nothing to harsh or brash and not too punchy on the midbass.

budget- around $500 or so.

have been looking at the polk sr6500, the boston acoustics z series, ads 346cs, and a bunch of others, will be mounted in kick panels and its a big car (1963 lincoln continental).

look at the bravox audio kevlars according to devin (sinsiter audio) with a small enclosure they can get down to 50hz. and there extremely high quaility.

the JL XR's are supposed to sound pretty awesome.. you could always run All JL.. aside from the cd player, since they dont make them, and is this a girl on CAC? yay

edit: also with that budget, you should easily be able to find a good set of comps..

ya the kevlars are awsome sounding and get pretty low. are you going to use the mcintosh to power them? also awsome car and great equipment.

component sets are very subjective and something best chosen with your own ears.
we can recommend speakers all day long but in the end, every set sounds different to each person's ears, and what I may love, you may hate.
Best to audition them yourself.

Moderators always have words of wisdom!!!!!!!, but i am in a remote part of the globe where there is no car stereo stores, no install places and no friends with systems..sooo, keep the opinions comin..i have no other choice.:-)

Remote part of the globe huh. Well I am in Germany if your any where close.

I noticed you had some pretty nice brands listed below (Boston Zs, and so on) but with the 13W7 your going to need a pretty punchy mid to keep up.

You might look ingo Focal, the Utopias and KP2 are really nice. Same with Bravox, and the Boston Pros. Or you could do something like a Seas lotus, or JL XR set.

No matter what set, it really comes down to what your ears like. My only sugestion is look for something with a pretty good out put in the mid range. That way you have something to keep up with the 13W7.

One more thing. You will need to x over that sub about 60 herts with a 18 or 24db slope. I have the 12 and it really doesn't like being set above that.

how do u measure the output of mid ranges and speakers? is there a certain number to look for?
