Someone scratched my car.

Post by NViejeP »

Came to my car today to find booger written on the side of my car, its a pretty light scratches. It is a whtie scratch on my green 4runner, it is noticable, but not very deep, I believe some little kid used scissors not very hard or osmething to do it.

What can I do to get this off? Will it last? How much should it cost?

*UPDATE*

Heres a picture. I went to the store, the guy said that Meguairs Scratch-X will nto work, and he even gave me some to try. I went in, put some on, it worked for a bit, I rubbed it in with a towel, but I might have rubbed it off, I dont know though, but it worked for awhile, went back in the store to ask how much it was, came back out, and it was back to normal scartched up.

Here is the picture, how much would it cost to get taken to the profesional? Anyone recommend anything? I'm not ver ygood with any body work or anything, i dont really feel comfortable sanding some stuff down..

What do you guys think? If I really try, I can set my finger nail in it a LITTLE bit, not very much though. If I take it to the shop, how much is it going to cost?

Do you have insurance?

You could wet sand it out yourself and buff it. I'd try to do it myself first ... how bad could you mess it up? Either they fix what's there now or fix what you do to it if you can't fix it yourself, I'm sure the cost would be about the same. But at least you could save yourself a bunch of money.

it needs to be buffed with a ruff cut polish then a fine cut polish and it should come right out if not a little wet sanding and then buffing. a pro should do it for under a 100 bucks.

That sucks SooHoo. I hate taggers. Even when my friends did it, I would make sure it wouldn't be on cars or peoples houses.

If a pro can do it for under $100, I might just go to him.
Someone mentioned: http://www.langka.com and http://www.paintscratch.com

If I order both of those, they can work with each other. I don't know though.

My name is not Dudley Dawson. I'll post more pics of the 4runner, even though its pretty basic, no real modifications. I'm working on my system first =) And that car jacking last week realyl put me back. This hasn't been my week, first on tuesday my car gets broken into, and now this. I'm about to pick up my new radio faceplate though.

Oh and regarding the scratch, sometimes when I run my finger nail through it, I can feel it, but I can't really put my finger nail in it. Some times I dont feel anything, some parts are deeper than others. However, if I really try, I can feel it with the finger nail. Does this mean its under the clearcoat?
