speaker promblem

Post by daytonaman07 »

I have a 1990 dodge daytona 3.0. I had a radio put in it a while ago and just recently i put in a amp and two subs. But the promblem that im having the interior speakers are going in and out. So i went out and bought a capacitor. To see if it was taking to much power from interior speakers. But i need to know what i should do? Thanks chris

Check the wiring on them first and if everything is still holding strong the i would say it's just time for an upgrade, either way that will be your best bet

Well, the subs shouldn't be 'taking' any power from the speakers because you have a seperate amp providing the power for them. A capicitor will do nothing to address whatever problem you are having with the interior speakers. Give us some more info about your equipment and maybe someone can help you determine what is wrong. What make and model are your deck, amp, subs, etc.?

Sounds more like a wiring problem then an electrical system problem if they're going in and out.

That statement right there seemed to me as when the bass notes were hitting the mad dB's the interior speakers would "go in and out" also note he bought a cap to "help add" power. Soooooo the bass hits the speakers distort as I'm taking it. But yes he needs to list everything he is using.

Probably has like a 60 amp alternator anyway.

Well if that is that alternator that came with the vehicle, it really doesn't matter how many amps it has. That alternator puts out 90 amps because thats how much the vehicle needs to operate safely within those limits....not with a 600 watt amp added as well!
