battery
battery
okay so my charging system does seem to be a little on the weak side (still getting very faint alt whine at night, and my headlights were dimming when rolling down the windows); i want to do the big 3 (if i can find some flippin 1/0! prices have gotten insane), but i also want to grab a new battery. i was thinking about getting one of those yellow everstart batteries (the "better" ones) at walmart - anyone know much about these? would one be better than my factory battery? what should i look for in one?
thanks for any help.

I can get 1/0 really cheap...S&H may hurt you tho
Let me know how much you need...
I think the last time we bought some it was 60cents a foot I can't remember
A buddy of mine runs an everstart in his ford explorer and it seems to do very well.
I've heard next to Optima Everstart is a great choice from other forums/this forum in the past.

yeah.. i'd like a red top.. but i'm trying to cut costs right now.. i mean the alt is going to cost $200, and at this rate, i'll be paying $40 for the big 3 wiring, never mind fuses, battery terminals. etc... damn copper prices. if you could get 1/0 for 60 cents a foot, i'd love you. is it good stuff?

Yea, from an authorized MA dealer right next to my shop
He gives it to us fairly cheap
Let me double check on the pricing and I'll get back with you, may be a little while because the guys works all type of odd hours. I also get terminals and crap at cost (work at a shop) want me to crimp your big 3 for you (gimme measurements for how long you want the wires to be and which one goes where so I know which eyelet crimp to use).

Ive never had a problem with them Yellow batteries from Wal Mart.
Heck, even the next one down...
For 1/0 check out Knu's new KLM. They claim it to carry as much current as the Kollosus.
Plus all of their wiring meets or exceeds to the same AWG gauge...
$1.75/foot. Plus its light- its aluminium!

hrm... i guess it can't hurt to give it a shot... i suppose since kollosus is 2/0... and KLM is the same siize, it might not be a bad idea. I'd just hate to be limited in anyway, since its CCA, theres not much copper so the resistance might be higher and then you'd have a better chance of ground problems? maybe thats just me... any ideas?
