HU is hot

Post by neonblack »

My HU amp is disabled because I have external amps (I disabled it using one of the HU features) and I took a CD out of the HU after maybe 30 minutes of playing and it felt like it was well over 100 degrees. What's causing the heat if the HU amp is disabled? Alpine HU

Is there an electro-mechanical motor that runs the CD player? That can't get very hot, correct? Thanks for the answer.

Its winter.

99.8% of cars have a center vent within inches of the radio...
