Hifonics Zeus any good?

my friend is getting a pair of 12" Hifonics Zeus subwoofers.. i know that u guys call hifonics brand crap but i was wondering if anyone has heard them in person, because his friend says it sounds good.

Friends shouldn't trust friend's hearing. lol

Never heard them in person. They aren't bad products per say, that is, until they fail. (which is always evident around about a year)

I haven't heard them in person, but I'm sure they sound 'fine'. The only difference the average person can tell between one sub and another is how loud it is. Few people are into audio enough to actually consider the tonal qualities of a subwoofer. Plus, more than half of what makes a subwoofer sound good is crossover settings and blending it with your midbass.

The main issue that comes to mind when considering Hifonics is relability. I don't have any personal experience with Hifonics so I can't give a good review on them. I'd do a google search for that particular subwoofer and see if you can dig up some personal reviews on it.
