arc audio 2500-xxk

I have the arc audio 2500-xxk and it says not to operate less than 4 ohms bridged but I have a question... has anybody worked with this amp alot and into detail to know if it could handle a lower load when bridged... I would think it would because its a high quality amp but they advise not to... I know that if on most A/B class amps that it can mess up the amp if wired lower than 4 ohms unless its made to be stable at 1 ohm or whatever. But what I need out of it is a about a 20 second burp at 1 ohm. If I can't do this then I might find a different amp or something.

If it says not to do it, I wouldnt advise doing it.

i agree but there are all those guys runnin amps at .33 ohms and .25 ohm and .5 ohm and it says not to... im just wondering if there is anybody that has worked with this amp that might know if i could do that

Those are generally SPL guys (I <3 you Bill) and they take a chance while doing it. They're also generally running at such a low impedance for short amounts of time. Not to mention your amp probably won't be covered under warranty if you blow it by using it outside of its advertised limits.
I wouldn't want to do that to such a nice amp anyways :)

yeah i know exactly what you mean.... im trying to get something together for a small comp at the end of the month without having to invest in another amp

I was just looking at the manual online and it looks as though the lowest that you would be able to run it would be 2ohm bridged (not recommended), which at that rate it may very well go into protect or if run for extended period of time may toast the amp... So I guess my opinion on this would be to do it at your own risk.
