What do you do for a living?

I am currently the assistant webmaster for http://www.wwl.com which is the biggest local radio station. I really work for the corporation that owns it, which is Entercom. I used to work for the FM's in promotions. That was fun driving the station vans around. I'm techically the webmaster, but titles are a bitch...

I've been trying to find something new. I am graduating college with my graduation this friday :) . I've applied to a few TV stations with no success yet.

I live in Gods word daily, I make my wages by working for a german company call Thyssen Krupp Gerlach. I'm a machine operator and will be going to college to for buisness administrative classes.

Sheesh who doesnt TK own Matt?

My dad works for Thyssen Krupp Atlas, same people you work for. I just think they change the last name for the company they assimilated...lol

wow I didn't know they owned so much lol, greedy I guess huh...The plant I work at we make camshafts.

The plant my dads at makes crankshafts.

Cat and Apex is all I really ever hear about.

Also I think their start wage is $11/hr for comparison. I think after a year your close to $12 or there, then about $0.50 every year raise. They are unionized also at that plant.

In its glory days before the TK takeover, the lowest paid dude was $12-13 for a janitor. The Machine Ops there were making about $16, maintenance, tool room, electricians $18+ DOE.

i used to get 17 an hour to install but since opening my own shop, some days i dont make 17 dollars a day...

im only 17, but i work at a local bike shop (Cycle Path Bikes...and yes, people call us "Psycho Path Bikes" all the time) doing a little bit of everything. i turn wrenches, i sell bikes, if i wasnt in school and could work full time, i'd probably be the manager. we have a great time there though, i've shot pete with a paintball gun INSIDE the store, and kevin has chased me around the mechanics area with a garden hose....2 of the many reasons people call us psycho path...but we have a great time, and have been rated the best bike shop around. haha.

I work as a Full time tooling engineer i design tools for high volume metal stampings. i work at http://www.MTDproducts.com its quite a large company. got plants all over the world and engineering centers in ohio arizona and hungary.

on the side i do cad design designing anything from RC car parts to working on land plots for local developers.

Well, my job is pretty cool actually. (too me atleast) I actually get to play with subwoofers, well speakers I guess, all day long just on a much bigger scale and slightly different. I am a Vibration Engineer for a small company called Detroit Testing Laboratory http://www.dtl-inc.com/. We do all kinds of different testing I work in the Vibe lab though. Basically I shake things either until they break or until the test is complete.

The job is really cool also because I get to see a lot of different things before they are actually in production. We do a lot of automotive testing but we can test just about anything.

We use shakers which are kind of like a subwoofer on a much larger scale. Instead of voice coils we use armatures. We have about 12 different shakers and 6 of them have thermal chambers for testing at extreme temperatures.

That is a very poor example but it gives you an idea of what a shaker is what a test looks like. The shakers are actually able to produce music if you have the correct program. It is pretty sweet hearing music come from a huge piece of equipment. We can produce frequencies from 5-3000Hz at different amplitudes. So the music isn't the greatest but still pretty cool.
