What amp to choose?

Post by dakingjames23 »

I have a premier 3002 SPL sub I'm not sure what amp to get out of these
-Boss Audio CH3000D
-Hifonics BXi 1206D
-Hifonics BXi 1606D
-Boss Audio BL3KD-(friend has this with a 15" L7 sounds loud)-leaning towards this one

I know but many people I know and people online don't have problems with those Boss models but if there are any more around that price range let me know.

Hifonics over Boss definately... I'm assuming your sub is a Dual 2 ohm Voice Coil and that is why you are looking at 1 ohm stable amps... Definately get better sound and produce cleaner power from the Hifonics (remember you get what you pay for)...
Another option would be the Autotek MM1000.1D

I'd definately leave Boss as a last resort.

hard to tell what is the box tuned to? It should hit pretty loud seeing as that sub is designed to be in a 1.5cuft box but im sure that sub will displace about .2 cuft in the box and if its goign to see 1600watts i would imagine it will be all right around 38hz
