Argh Wtf!!!

im thinking something isnt tightly connected. Maybe the remote turn on lead is defective in the head unit? Maybe the ground point is just plain bad, try somewhere else. If it works with the car off, that pretty much eliminates ur battery, ground and other wiring id think. It could be your electrical in the car.

try taking a long wire straight from the battery for the remote lead. if the amp will turn on and stay on while in any gear other that drive, you know its the HU. try unplugging the rca's too.

if that doesnt work try checking the amp in another car...

You don't have to run a giant wire all the way from your battery to the remote terminal to test it, that's just way too much work. Just get a tiny wire and bridge your +12V and Remote terminals.

heres the problem:
i had a coolant leak which dripped on my alternator, which shorted. this caused the car to overcharge at 17 volts. it blew my 4 channel amp(old alpine amp anyway) and caused my sub amp to do all that sh*t i was complaining abouut. i got the amp changed today and all problems were fixed...except the 4 channel is still broken.
