Dead Seagate Hard Drive

I have a Cooler Master 550 watt PSU. The power connector is a direct fit, no adapter.

The drive is spinning up as I can feel it gyro when I hold it in my hand. I think its the read head crashing or messing up? Hence the clicking.

Well I got my new drive in.

God damned this computer I think.

I got it to load Vista and I get blue screen crashes? I cant get it to recongnize my DSL modem no way no how. I try to edit stuff and it says "access denied"

WTF man. Im about to... I dunno but its not gonna be pretty. Ive never seen such BS in my life. I know something not quite right here...

No it works. But Vista didnt want to load. After it loaded if I put anything in the SATA DVD drive it went blue screen. Now it does it every now and then. It wont detect my modem anymore says something about another computer connected by a cable?

Im going to reformat the drive and try again...

Have you tryed loading XP on any of these drives? I'm no computer guru but I've heard of quite a few people lately having problems loading Vista on Home built machines for some reason.

This is not a vista issue. ive loaded vista on 4 diffrent pc's ive built as well as my friends have put it on without any issues.

Is this the new WD drive you got?

I heard that Seagate and WD have a vendeta against all GOP supporters

For real though Ryan. If you need help, send me a PM and you can bring the beast to me and I will take a look at it pro bono. I would not be too surprised if it tuned out to be a bad PSU.

If you want some ideas, try taking out all but one piece of RAM and al cards that are not necessary. Strip the system down to bare essentials and then do a format and reinstall. If you still have issues, it is with something you have still connected. I highly doubt all of these issues are drive related.
