taking over payments on a vehicle?

Post by Scarrell »

what is there to know if i was to do that? a buddy of mine has a newer Zr2 s10, and id love to have it, he only pays $180 a month for it, but he has lost his license for a year. and lately ive been wantin a 4x4 truck, since i cant take my damn lowrider anywhere that a normal car/truck can, and since my truck is out of commission, it has made me want one even more.. plus its an s10, and ive kind of based my stereo on one, so i can just switch everything and have the same sound as i did in my lowrider, etc..

Where is he making his payments too?
Are you looking to just setup a contract with him and make the payments to him or are you looking to take over payments from the institution that holds the title?

BTW: damn good deal, I'd jump on that myself.

well, im not sure how much he owes on it yet, but id like to take over payments and make it mine..

and yes it is a very good deal, thats why i want it..

i think he told a buddy he wanted $5,000 for it, so he probably owes around that still.

at 180/month the interest may be high so be careful of that,
Just find the payoff and see if you can get a loan for it but I highly doubt you'll find someone who'll finance 5,000 for 180/month unless you have really good credit.

Dittoo as Bill said.

There is no 'taking over payments" he has to just sell you the car. Anything other than that is you driving his car.

Make sure its worth the amount he wants...

I pay $170/month on a $7K loan. I paid tax/title up front. its possible.

My old Beretta was $5500. Thats was $123 a month payment with $1K down.

What year is it? Condition? Milage? How much is he asking?

You would need to know all this info before you could even think about it being a good deal or not.

For 5,000 it better be in good condition and have low(er) milage.
