2.3 turbo or 5.0 v8 swap for the ranger.
This winter I'll probably tear it apart and build it back to more exicting specs.
Optition One:
Engine:
Stock Mustang Short Block
Stock H.O cam
1.7 Rockers
GT 40 (p) heads
Gt 40 Intake
Transmission:
T5 Transmission
Rear End:
Explorer 8.8", limited slip, rear disc brakes, 3:73 gears.
Or.....
Opition two:
Engine:
Stock 2.3 turbo long block/turbo
15 PSI of boost
Transmission:
Turbo coupe T5
Rearend:
Explorer 8.8", limited Slip, rear disk brakes, 3:55 gears.
Other Mods:
Interior:, New blue carpet, Black/Blue focus SVT leather bucket seats, explorer console, explorer OHC, black leather inserts for the door panels.
Audio:
??????????????
Exterior:
New White Paint, painted front bumper, 4x4 Front Valance, clear turn signals, 2" cowl hood, Grill insert (wire mess), flush tonneau cover, roll pan, tinted stock taillights.
Suspension:
The explorer rearend lowers the back around 4" from stock, So I'll probably lower the front 3" to level it out. Other than that, still figuring out the details.

Either way, it'll probably be a weekend toy, so gas milage isnt a huge concern.William from NOLA wrote:Put the smallest motor you can possibly put in it. Make it a super gas mileage vehicle.
I'm leaning towards the 5.0, god I love the sound of the 5.0.
But it would also to say "Oh, its just a 4 cyl"
Notice the theme though, either way I'll be using ALOT of OEM parts.
