Hey guys, just for fun what was everyone's first system setup?

Mine: Pioneer DEH-1400 HU (or comparable model)
Kenwood KAC-829 100Wx2 Amp
(2) Kenwood 12" Tornado Subs in pre-made box
All wired in with Monster cable 8GA wiring and professionally installed
by the pro's {

} at circuit city.
(What was I thinking??)

If I only knew then what I know now. Could have a lot nicer setup
Oh well, live and learn I guess.

An old kenwood HU, that was actually pretty nice.
Some Polk Audio 3-way 6x9s in the rear deck
4" Kenwood speakers in the dash
2 12" Legacy Subs
Legacy 500 watt amplifier
Bandpass box

The Legacy was the eBay special. Two subs, amp, and bandpass box for like $250. i blew the subs within a week and upgraded to....LEGACY SAPPHIRE SERIES 1200 WATT SUBWOOFERS!!

Cheap RCAs...

First "real" system lasted more than the two weeks the above car did...

Pioneer 4x6's in front
Pioneer 4 way 6x9s in boxes
Jensen 400 WRMS 4 Channel amp pushing all interiro speakers(Later switched to Punch 40 for 6x9s)
4 12" JL Audio W1 subs in sealed 1.5 cubic feet boxes
Punch 60 for one set
Majestic 200 WRMS amp for one pair
4 Ga power wire...
1 Farad cap
Stock 90 amp alt...

I have yet to put a system together that "appears" to have the same output as this did...

hmm.. had a 1979 280ZX with a kenwood tape deck, sony coaxials, and 6x9s that I built small enclosures for in the rear. that was back in highschool.

had a 1989 dodge shadow that I got after selling the 280, and put in a first-gen Pioneer DEH-55 CD player, kenwood coaxials in front, with separate tweeters in the doors and hand built passive crossovers, Coustic amps (2 AMP190s, 1 AMP100a), and the subs varied from two MTX 10" to two 8" bazooka tubes, to a 12" DVC Optimus sub in a box I built.. this was in my poor college years. read: 89-90
after that I started work at the shop, and built the Festiva.
that one, everybody knows already.

Man...

When I was 12 years old,
I bought a Sony CDX-4000X cd player to power a pair of Cambridge Soundworks 5&1/4" mains in my dad's 1984 Dodge Ram 100.

When I had aquired my first (and only) vehicle,
I had my Sony CDX-4000X with the stock speakers in my van. I eventually got the idea of mounting home stereo tweeters with crossovers to the van (to go along with the stock speakers). Believe it or not, it wasn't bad, wasn't very loud, but didn't sound bad.

The first sub I ever bought was an Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1d.

hmm,
My very first 'system' that would have been around 91 or so.

The headunit was a Pioneer pullout cassette. Can't remember the model number but it was a premier.

Some Pioneer 6x9's in the back, and Yamaha 4x6's up front.

My first amp was a Pioneer GMH-200 (still have it out in the box out in the shed. Almost a collectors item now).

And a Pioneer 12.

83 toyota Tercel. had the system in it before the car was driveable. I got the car for building a sib box for 2 15" Rockford series 1s. First box I ever built=free car sweet!
second box I ever built was the box for 2 Pioneer IMPP 10" subs that I put in the car!
Pioneer tape deck-first fully-detachable face unit! sweet!
Pioneer 12 disc changer
Pioneer 4" in the dash
Pioneer 3-way 6x9s in boxes in the back
2 Pioneer IMPP 10" free-airs which I put in about a 5 cube box-it actually pounded pretty good!
Jensen 100x2 Yeah baby!
Pioneer 7-band graphic eq with 3 band parametric! and 100booster! woohoo!
