pioneer deh-880prs with CD-IB100II not charging ipod touch 3g

dropped my ipod in the salt lake so i got a new touch just got home to alaska and the deck can control the ipod but not charge

apple disabled the firewire charging on the 3g touchs so is there any adapter for this deck or a different ipod cable for the ib100II that has the 5v usb charging

id rather not have to use a cigarette lighter adapter with a pass through either but if thats the only way then i guess thatll do

i was looking at the compatibility list and it said Functionality Inconsistent for the ib100II

it charges it sometimes now then other times it says its charged when it was at like 30% before i plugged it in

i went to the local car audio shop image audio which was at on point called power sounds and actually good to see if pioneer sold any new cables that supported the new usb only charging that all the new ipods use i explained that i had the ib100II and they kept saying it was my deck and not the unit the said i should buy one of the new decks with a usb input on the front i tried to explain that it was the ib100II unit and not the deck thats at fault then asked hm how many has he installed he should know the unit provides the power to the ipods not my deck you even have to hook up separate power wires for it then the guy said thats nice but your deck is old get a new one. i really dont think its the deck its the cable and its old style pinouts for charging but i could be wrong
anyways i guess ill have to deal with inconsistent charging for a while or go buy another ipod classic
oh yeah i got the passport from apple not the one from scosche its the same exact thing just cheaper from apple

take a step back, the only thing that guy was trying to get you to do is buy a new deck from them instead of actually helping you.... ? Have you tried calling pioneer?
