There are of course a few things that need to be attended to. There was moisture in the front corner signal lights and it ruined the shiney mirror stuff on the inside, so I'm swapping those out for new ones along with the bulb and socket that the bulb fits into, in case the sockets were the parts that failed and allowed moisture in.
The original tires and wheels have no wear but the tires have those small cracks in the sidewalls that look like the rubber has dried out. Plus, they ugly. So I ordered new wheels and tires for the bitch. I went with 18x9 with zero offset wheels. And 285/60-18 tires. It is a very nice wheel to tire ratio. Should look good. Brands and series are Ion Alloy 171's (polished) and Cooper Zeon LTZ's.
The van has a six inch lowered floor for added headroom. And to achieve this, the body was lifted two inches. Well, you know what body lifts do, they expose the under belly and leave the bumpers behind. So I had the bumpers relocated to stock looking position two days after I bought the van. It looked nasty with the bumpers low like that. Eww. Another ugly effect of the lift/lowered floor... the stock muffler and tail pipe. It looks like it's hanging down and it's all rusty and poopy-doody. So I'm thinking a straight through flow design for the compact size. I need help deciding on that though. Because I don't want a loud exhaust but wouldn't mind better performance. The new tail pipe needs to be hung two inches higher as well. It looks out of place as it is right now.
It's a 5.4L V8 Gas by the way. It has plenty enough power for the van, no problem at all. But I have ordered a K&N stock replacement air filter for it. I have always had great results with them and run them in every vehicle my family owns. The best results I've experienced with a K&N was in a 2005 Ford Explorer 4.0L V6. It was a night and day difference. Anyway... yeah, K&N is going in.
The windows have the stock tinted glass but I'm having the entire rear windows blacked out. As they are now, you can see clear through them. It's weak.
Steps are needed for all my peeps that can walk. So I've been looking at the N-Fab Wheel to Wheel bars. If my wheelchair lift will clear the rear step, it's a go on those.
The original owners had a bug shield installed. You know, the kind with snap on buttons. Faaa-rig. And not only in the grille but the sheet metal below the grille. So new grille of course but I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the screw holes in the metal. Might just have to take it to the body shop. Cost of everything is adding up here. Ah well, wtf is new, eh?
And now for the most important thing... A deck! It has original double-din cassette. It's intense! Seriously though. It makes me sad. So I'm looking for a double-din with built in iPod, SD or USB control. Full scrolling capability and stuff. Not too worried about radio or anything. But a good remote is a must. Any ideas on that guys? Probably going to need some coaxial speakers too. Get those stockers out.
I think I'm forgetting to mention a few things... I'll post later when I remember what they are.
