Ugh, Craigslist 'buyers' are annoying

Post by Chris from Washington »

So I've been trying to sell some of the left over stuff I have from my Camaro.

I have my old wheels, that I don't need anymore. It's bad enough the people who really want them, and then back out/no show. But what is even worse are the people who are just try to get my phone number.

Every single time I post something for sale, I get several emails from people wanting me to call them.

Here is the latest one

Him: hi. i have cash. when and where can we meet i need these asap. blew a tire on my trans am and it toasted the rim. what is your phone number???? -Colt

Me: Where are you coming from. I can meet you tomorrow night after 5.

Him: I need them tonight. i have to be at a car show in the a.m. If you cant do it NOW I can't do it at ALL. call me asap. i have a driver and cash otherwise im gonna have to buy a different persons rims. idk... -

So I look up the phone number he left, and find other stuff on him.

I'm trying to think where there would be a car show on a Tuesday morning too? Be a pretty stupid car show, when most people work during the week.

Or how about the ones that send you a message that says'
'do you still have.....'

and I usually write back within minutes 'hi, hes I do still have them'
and then never hear anything more from that person.

All the fricken time!!

Im very careful about emailing people anymore.

There is just to many people fishing for emails. I made mistake of emailing a few ads for xbox 360's. Now I get a line on non stop spam emails.

Ya I figured that's what they are doing, I just use a throw away gmail account for Craigslist now.

Or on their very first email to me they say 'I'm interested in what your selling, call me' It can't be any more obvious that they are trying to get phone number.

"Hey, would you take an ipod and $30 for that?"

my favorite craigslist buyer response.

So I was looking to buy a jet ski, and I had posted some Want to Buy ads on craigslist for the specific model with the hours I was looking for.

I would get people emailing me with their skis that had 100hr+ more than what I said I was looking for, or different models all together. Or my favorite, people emailing me asking if I still had them for sale??? <<< This happened at least 15 times
