Best noise filter?

Hey all, had an issue with my Boss deck, thinking a noise filter might help...what is the best one to go for? Even the best type would help narrow it down for me, i have no clue what I'm looking for honestly, never used one. Thanks y'all!

A noise filter? What are you trying to do?

I know about the problem you had with the deck, but I'm not sure what you are thinking the noise filter is going to do.

honestly, i'm trying it as a last-ditch effort before i ditch the deck. i figure that they're cheap, and if it's some sort of grounding issue (i'm only using the factory ground in the truck) then possibly the noise filter will stop it. i guess if it's hopeless i won't even bother...i just really don't have the money to fork out to replace the deck and i'd hate to replace it only to find out later it was something simple. but, as i mentioned in the other post...i'm definitely a nooB when it comes to car audio...so maybe this is a dumb idea anyhow.

If you want to make sure its not the ground, don't bother buying something else. Especially a filter. Just hook the decks ground to the battery using jumper wire and see if the problem goes away.

I really don't think its a ground problem. Unless its something internal to the deck. Normally ground problems happen with all sources, not just two out of three.

I agree, i honestly don't think it is either. Just thought about trying.

Either way, the ground would only take a few min to try, and it will be an easy way to make sure before you spend money on a new deck.

The best solution is to eliminate the noise problem instead of trying to hide it with a filter. Find what's causing the issue in the first place.. could be a bad ground, or a signal line too close to a crossover or ingition wiring, or amps could have the gains turned too high, etc.

The best noise filters are RAIN or USD noise gates converted to 12VDC.

That's the problem, GlassWolf...if i knew the problem, trust me, I'd fix it "right". When in CD/DVD mode or SD card mode, it sounds kinda like a blown speaker...but its fine in radio or aux mode...I'm at the point I'm thinking a defective deck...sure wish i would have filled out that damn warranty card now.
