Amp Install with car Battery under Backseat

I just purchased a buick lacerne, 2008. Im going to install a 300rms mono channel class D amp with a 250rms kenwood 12 sub. My question is:

Can I connect the power cable from the amp directly to my battery located underneath the back seat and still ground the negative to a bolt below the seat? It would be a lot quicker and easier than running the power cable through the firewall to the positive terminal by the engine.

Is there any disadvantage or harm in doing this?

PLEASE HELP or provide any Input you may have.

Just to clarify, you have 2 batteries in your car currently? How are they hooked up?

No the car only has one battery located underneath the backseat but it has terminals by the engine in front to connect to for jumping the car. I just want to verify there is no danger in connecting from the amp to the battery when they will be so close together. Also that there will be no or little difference in sound quality...???

oh, strange. Never heard of something like that before.

Yes you can hook it up to the battery, (remember to fuse within 6 inches).
For the ground, I would keep that wire as short as possible and connect it to a clean piece of metal near the amp itself.
