Knight Rider car...KITT

Post by nist7 »

Does anyone have or have access to quality, authentic pictures of KITT (the Knight Rider car) ?

Anyways, I just remembered that this was my favorite show (it was re-runs on TV evidently) back in the day and now i'll probably go buy the DVD. Too bad it only lasted two seasons though.

I saw the actual car in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. There is a museum there called Star Cars I believe is the name. I'm pretty sure I have a pic or two of it. When I was little, I had the KITT pedal car that talked :)

There is an additional steering wheel and pedals behind the driver's seat :) .

Yea i saw the original car too. Although im not sure how real they are down there. They had a car from 2fast 2furious about a year before the first one even came out. They said it was from a different movie. Its a pretty cool place to go even if the cars arent real.

Isnt the KITT car just a firebird or trash am?

I seen the 2f2f car at the Detroit auto show before it even came out.

I was like WTF is that. Before that I can honestly say I have never seen a car like it before.

Now everyone with a rice car wants to be like it.... Pathetic...

There's a guy maybe an hour from where I live who built a reproduction of KITT with his son. Now they drive it to auto shows all Summer long. By todays standards, an 83 firebird is still pretty cheesy though, even with that awful cockpit steering wheel.

try images.google.com for pictures of the car though

When the show was hot and we had to write to stars for school, David was the only actor to reply. He did so in grand fashion with a hand written letter and tickets to the car show in Philly, with a pass to sit "in-car". You can bet i went.

Thanks for the memory lane trip, that was a long time ago. Relatively.
