Old Amp

This is an amp i just took apart. It's an old Sherwood 100w amplfier. I was wondering what things to look for inside of the amp to see if its blown or not. Anyone that could tell me a few things that i could look for would be helpful. Sorry if the image doesn't come up.

Does it just blow fuses?
Most likely it's the output transistors that are blown.

Do you have a multimeter?
sometimes you can check to see if they are shorted by setting it to continuity setting, and putting a lead on each leg. If it read 0 or short, remove it and test it again. Still says 0, then it's blown.

Now you can replace them, and hope that nothing else has been damaged. Or you can try and test out all the diodes, capacitors, and check for visual damage.

On a Sherwood, I almost wouldn't bother with it.

I've never used this amp..I got it from someone a while back and im not sure if it works or not. Kind of curious to see if it does so i was just wondering what things i would be able to see by looking at the amp if it was blown.

you can always look for burn marks on the PCB.

Sometimes the blown outputs will leave a mark, not always though.

Or sometimes they are blown apart, cracked or black.

To be quite honest Sherwood is a really crappy brand- right there with Legacy. Not trying to downgarde you or anything, but no sense in dumping $ into something not worth it :)
