CAC Gathering Summer 2006
As most of you are aware I tried to put a gathering together earlier this year for us.
I tried a park that is county controlled/property in Gibsonburg Ohio.
We were denied the use of the property for our event. This was a verbal denial. Reasoning was "The noise generated is against park rules and doesnt fit well with the park".
It has come to my full attention that the same park at which I would lke to hold this even holds an event names S.C.R.A.P.- Im not sure what all it means but I know what it is.
Its a big group of people with antique tractors and other farm machinery. This also includes the steam engine "one hitters" or "hit and miss" engines. If you dont know what these are I can kinda describe the noise: puff puff his his puff puff BOOM. When I say boom it probably easily BOOMS at over 160 dB...
I feel that we as a community have been dsicriminated against due to the bad light some people shine on our hobby. The reason given is a cop out excuse for "We dont like your kind"- which is what he should of just said.
Now my question to you all is this:
Is this worth fighting for? If I get this thing to go will you come? Im not going to hassle them unless its worth it. I would like to see all Platinum members and/pr key members. I know not everyone can attend, but it sure would be cool.
This includes you Chris. We know your to chicken to put a pic up but still would like to met you- even if you do hide behind a fence like Wilson on Home Improvement.
So if your in say so.

How about this. If I make it, you have to drive it. I think thats pretty fair.sinister audio wrote:ill try to be there but thats a 1,000 miles one way ill have to think about that pretty hard
I will try, but I might still be in the desert. I have a rotation comming up the first of the year, But if I can, I am planing on being in the states around summer anyways. So I will try to work it around the gathering.
Hay since I am a plat does that mean I get free pickup from the airport.
