Wiring Question!

Can someone direct me to some pics as to how to wire my deck so that the setting like time doesn't erase. So that I don't have to turn the ignition to play. Or at least explain to me how!

check your ignition wire. what kind of cars do you have.

Yeah it sounds like the power and ignition wires are tied in wrong. Make sure the power is tied into a wire that shows constant 12 volts, and the ignition (acc) is tied into something thats only hot when the key is on.

If you wire it correctly you will have to have the ignition to acc or on to use the radio.

If you want to be able to turn the radio on at all times then you just put the switching 12V+ along with the yellow 12V+ CONSTANT.

Just dont forget to shut off the radio...

Why would you not want your cd player to be off when the cars off? If you forget to turn it off when you get outta the car, then your stuck with a dead batt.

Well it erases all my setting and i don't want to have to set the sound everytime i get on Especially if i'm just going to the damn store. Enyways I tried what yall said but it still won't work. my deck won't get power unless its set up like this Red from harness to both red and Yellow from Deck. Thats in a Y formation. So should i Set it up in an X formation red and yellow form harness to red and yellow from deck?

You in serious need of a test light.

Once you acquire a test light or a volt meter try this. Check both wires (on the car harness side) and see which one is ONLY hot with the car ignition on, and which one STAYS hot with the car turned off.

Then tie the one thats hot all the time to your decks 12 volt constant wire. Then tie the other wire to your decks 12 volt ACC wire. That way your deck comes on when you start the car, and it won't loose the info when you take the keys out.

I was searching the forum and i saw something about a Orange memory wire. My harness has one but my Deck doesn't. Is the orange the memory, if it is how do I connect it since my deck doesn't have one?

and if none of them have a constant flow then what do i do?
