Alright guy..Figure my box is 5.3cu ft after sub displacement. How would i go from that figure into figuring out the dimensions of the box?? How do i get length/width/heigth from cu ft? Hopefully you understand my quesion. I'm a bit confused.

there might be a formula but you could just divide it by 3 and that would give you what each lxhxw measurement would be if you wanted it to be a square (although you dont want it to be a perfect cube) and then from there you could add 1foot to the width and subtract it from the length, know what i mean?

i'd basically guess and check,although im pretty sure there's programs and equations to help you do it.

The FAQ section of the forums has a thread on box building, which points to the Xtant website. There you will find the golden ratio formula, which will approximate dimensions based on your volume (in cubic inches). Another easy thing to do is if you have any dimensions for where you want to place the box, say in a trunk thats 17" high, and 25" wide, and you want your box to be 5 cubic ft (8640 cubic in), 8640/(17*25) gives you your final dimension. You could guess and check, but it might take awhile....You really just need to make some design decisions, maybe based on how you might want your box to look or where you want it to fit, then its easy. The idea of dividing the volume by three, then adding an inch to one dimension and subtracting an inch from another will not work unless you have the right numbers. (9/3=3, 3*3*3=9, 3*2*4=24, way off) so whatever you get your final dimensions to be, multiply them again just to make sure your volume is what you want it to be.
