No, but I don't see anything that would make me hesitate.

Shipping on a cheap radar detector is $9 something, so not horrible.
Their site, and product line up, looks like any other similar store, to which I can name about 5 trusted places... such as Millionbuy or Sonicelectronix.

The only thing is, techronics does'nt seem to have the best prices, but thats just for a few items I can compare off the top of my head. I'd say check millionbuy for whatever you're looking for, I've had good dealings with them.

If techronics has the best price, go for it.
Credit cards have fraud protection, so you're pretty safe. Just remember that if what you buy is unauthorized, you may not get a MFR warranty. Thats a risk we have to accept with sites like these.

I had considered buying it, but I'm really not ready to buy anything right now. I want to wait until I get back to the states and determine exactly what my system is going to look like. I have a feeling that amp isn't going to fit the new system anyway.

First, Thank you for serving. Hope you get home safely and quickly.

Second, let me clarify my feelings on brands like Kicker. They were the big dog at one time, practically the only game in town. JL and MTX also come to mind. Rockford Fosgate, man I remember when that was the stuff to own. US Amps came along shortly thereafter. Then Memphis entered the scene in a big way with the ol' Belle.

Out of all of them... JL remains pretty damn impressive.

I know some guys who collect the old US Amps stuff religiously. US Amps now introduced a Korean(?) made line called Xterminator. Thats been the common trend for most, making it cheaper, yet these names come at a premium.

Phoenix Gold moved so far away from their core values that a bunch of the guys left to form Exile audio... now thats some impressive looking gear. However, the current PG stuff is still not that shabby, internally, but for the prices???

Rockford and MTX are now quite expensive for what you get.

You can see it's not chintzy, but is the ZX2500.1 the best way to spend $700 some odd dollars? Not in my honest opinion.

I know a guy, who I respect quite a bit, thats an amp tech at kicker.... he designs and repairs stuff. His level of intelligence is quite high, and I believe he really knows what he's doing. That gives me faith in the Kicker brand, it really does. But do you think Kicker allows this guy to run wild and create the best amp he could? Not when you consider quality component costs. You can be sure he's working under very tight budget constraints.

So perhaps you're getting a $400 amp for $700. Could be worse, could be better, I'm not sure... but the corporation needs their hefty profit.

Fair deal imo. kicker makes solid amps.
compare to http://www.woofersetc.com w/o free shipping (but they do have 1-2 yr warranty).

I know what you're saying about those lines of amps. I was big into car audio when JL was just entering the game. I didn't care for them then. They've come a long ways. I sold kicker and had much respect for them then as I did for Phoenix Gold. That was my brand of choice. I went to a seminar by a guy who worked for them then left. Man he was cool. I still got my t-shirt somewhere. I survived what's his name's seminar. lol. I can't remember his damn name. Anyway, I stepped back from car audio for a few years and have sense been working my way back in. I can definately see a change in things, and finding the good brands isn't what it used to be. This board has been an increadable help in every way. I hope to one day work my way up to being a major contributor to this board.

I got sidetracked by the guys in the office and forgot where I was going with that. Anyway ...

I have a friend who did a SQ install in an Acura MDX. I was with him in Kentucky for IASCA finals '04. Anyways... his system consisted of Focal and Audison front stage, Alpine F#1 Status HU and processor, and for the low end, a JL 13w7 powered by a JL Slash 1000/1 ... and with gain at zero, that friggin' sub was just insane. These guys have caught my attention bigtime, and thats not eeasy to do. Seems they're going back to the "Outlaw" ways of doing things. :happy055:

They have an amp which, you can strap 4 together for something stupid like ten kilowatts. The problem IS the bones, and I'm not sure what this stuff can be had for.

But...

I should also add that Exile is evolving Quite rapidly...
So I'm wondering what they'll have released by the time Airforceyooper is actually in the market. We might all be surprised.
