Type-Rs? RE SE?
Type-Rs? RE SE?
Hey guys, as many of you guys probably already know, RE has raised their direct prices. I had planned to get an RE SE 12; luckily, sinister audio has offered me an RE SE 12 for $220 shipped, so I'm still paying mroe than what old direct prices used to be; however, it's stil lbetter than the new $350 price.
While taking a look around, I've heard that many people have talked about Alpine Type Rs. It's about 500 watt RMS, while the RE SE is 600 watt rms.
My amp should be putting out around 400 watt RMS.
I also noticed taht the Type-R is very cheap.
Right now I'm thinking the RE SE, but should I even consider the Type-R? Does it come close with the RE SE?
the Type R with a 1 year sonicelectronix warranty is $120. The RE SE shipped is $220.
A little less than $100 difference. Is it worth it? That's the question. Please state your own opinions and suggestions for me! Please note that this is my first subwoofer and I'm not a crazy audophile.
Just trying to keep my options open. I'll be putting either one in a sealed enclosure.

AND YES, I can afford the RE SE. But I relaly would like to save as much money as I can. $100 is like 12 hours of work at my part time.

I think that's reverse psychology for "get the RE SE."
