GlassWolf or Jonathan / enclosure for subs

Post by suleman36 »

I just bought 2 JL 10w6v2's and needed help on building the enclosure. I listen to mostly RAP, DANCE, Rock, etc..... Looking for SQ with good output to handle the lows.

JL seems to recommend smaller enclosures for these subs. I believe ported at 0.75 cuft net per sub tuned to 32hz

This will be installed in a 98 toyota camry and powered off a Arc Audio 1500-XXK / 900 x 1 @ 4 ohms bridged

What size enclosure and tune do you recommend for my application ?

Hey, I'm a car audio expert...what about my opinion?

J/k, I actually don't know too much. When I did have questions for specific people though I would just PM them....

I feel you. Unfortunately I don't have the resources to do it myself so I'm going to pay somebody to do it for me. I have some great subs in a sealed enclosure but I feel like they can do more (and more for what I paid for) in an appropriately constructed (vented) enclosure.

Good luck

lol, its all good. I will try that too. I like the sound of the punch and clarity these subs offer. I havent heard them ported but have heard them sealed and was impressed. Just looking to get the most out of them while sounding good(SQ)

Try plugging them into WinISD and see what it recommends.

Its free and takes like 2 seconds to download. You can get it at http://www.linearteam.dk and all you have to do is enter the T/S specs of the driver and then you can play with different box sizes and tunings and see how they affect the ouput of the sub.

Another thing... they accept donations. If you really like the program... send them a few bucks so they can keep their software free for us.

hey, glad you decided to go with the W6's... since you have heard them sealed.. why isnt that an option? none the less, sealed or ported is good for them subs, but i would recommend 2.5cf tuned too 28hz
