lots of feedback

Post by spec_ops57 »

I've tryed many different subs on my 4ch 1600w amp, but no matter what I use, it still gives terrible feedback when a song isn't playing, or is playing quietly. Is there something I'm missing or is it time to get a new amp?

bad ground, rca's crossingpower wire, possibly internally damaged amp. what amp? There aren't really any 1600w 4 channel amps, that must be max power. Cheap amp, I'm assuming?

I wasn't too sure, I just heard somebody call it feedback when they heard it.. what's the right word? it's like a constant static with small surges in the sound

it's called a garbage amp. Check what I listed in the first reply. If the ground is good, the RCA's aren't crossing any power wires, and you don't have the gain too high, then it is a garbage amp.

this probably sounds like a stupid question, but can you have more than one 0ga ground at different places on a body?

You could but that would give you a loop ground...

Yes, but like Captain said, you don't really want to.

Also, with that amp, you really went overkill with 0 gauge.
