ok, i'm making a simple sealed box... my subs call for .85 cu ft each, but its a dual box and if i dont have to i really dont want to put the middle bearier(sp?) in there so each sub has its own chamber...to much work... so should i just make the box with 1.70cu ft? (just added the 2 subs together)

As long as both subs are being powered by the same amp, you are good. Building it that way is better IMO because you get so much more space for two subs.

That will work fine without the middle piece as long as you are only using one amp. Also, make sure to subtract the dispalcement from the total airspace!

alright thanks... i have the wood cut and everything just 1more question... wats a good sealer to use? all i have is like window caulk... i was thinking some kind of silicon sealant...?

Run a bead of Liquid Nails on the mating surfaces before screwing them together.

After it is built I use a tube of 100% RTV Silicone (clear) and seal the entire inside.

WHere the speaker wire runs through the box get a good old heap of silicone aswell.

alright, the box is done, thanks... i made a barrier in the front of the subs to protect them cause i throw my hockey bag and stuff in the trunk all the time... i just took a 1x3 and cut it down, stuck it on the side of the box and put 2 2x4's (cut to size)connected to that accross the front of the box so it protects the subs...yeah i could just get grills but i was bored... itll look alright once i paint it.
