how to??

I am a newbie to this site and to the car audio and perfomance and modifications but really enjoy it all an i have a LED glow bar i want to install above the rear veiw mirror on the front windsheild and my friend said to wire to the fuse box but he cant remember how he did it and i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to do that.

??????? Dude, I wouldn't mount it there. Thats asking for problems from the cops, and from seeing the road with it on.

That being said. Try to stay away from messing with the fuse box. Especially if your new to this stuff.

I would run your 12 volt + from the battey (with an inline fuse), find a decent ground close to where you mount it, and then pull your dash apart and hook in behind your light switch for your turn on lead.

You do have switch, relay, and the transformer that came with it right?

I am not going to have it on when i am driving because it is illegall in canada, and no i dont have those they did not come with it. My brother picked it up for me and the instructions that came with it do not say you need them it sayd to hook it to the battery but the wire is way to short and there is an on/off switch on the light.

Add some more wire.

At least for the +, the ground can come from about anywhere, as long as its metal and has a good conection with the chassi.

I cant find wire that is the same as the wire on the light. The instructions say stuff about the + and - but the wires are exactlly the same.

Find some 12 guage speaker wire, it will work just fine to add on to it.

One of the wires should have a marking, or something telling you if it is pos or neg. There has to be SOME way to tell.

If not, I would take it and get my money back. If the company that made it doesn't care enough to let you know which is which, they probably don't care if they burn your car to the ground.

i went an looked at teh light again and i had o pull the wires right apart to see the white line on the one wire which was hard to see becuase of the color of the wire.i will try the speaker wire and see how i works. i also have another question. it says it can be powered by connection directly to an exsisting accessory (+ 12 volt) power source. what would i beable to hook it to for that? my amp?

One of the wires may have a mark (dotted lines) on it... if so that's the ground (neg.)... if not and you want to test it... use a 9volt (square) battery.
And like Jeremy said... 14-12gauge speaker wire will work fine for extending the wire.
If you want to have a nice effect when it's parked... wire it into the dome light and it will come on with that switch... you can also get a colored bulb or a wrap for the dome light so it's the same color.

yes the one wire has a white line it is just difficult to see. would i be able to hook it to my amp? it has an on off switch on it so i can turn it on whenever i want. I do have a ble wrap for the dome bulb. my interior is painted blue and white so it will look really good i think.

You could wire it to the amp, but I wouldn't. Its to easy for something to go wrong, and mess up the light and the amp.

and, anything like that you add to your amps can introduce unwanted noise.
