good 6.5's for deck power?

Post by MobileAudio219 »

Hey guys, When I get the mustang running I want to put a real basic system in it. I want to run it off the deck power and will probably go with 6.5's all the way around. So the question is what are some good speakers that run/sound decent off the stock deck. I want something with semi decent mids and are almost considering 6x9 in the back just for the extra cone area (hides from the flaming).

And I know I would be better off running a good front stage off an amp, but I just want a real simple set-up with no amps are anything.

baseline Pioneers usually sound pretty good of just the deck... If you want something that might sound a little better look at the Cerwin-Vegas I thought they had a nice clean sound from a deck only set up... but use your own judgement.

the bravox base lines always did well off deck power. and ull probaly have trouble fitting 6X9"s in the back because they should be 5x7"s and they are kinda tight.

I've had very good luck with JBL GTO's off of HU power. Look for a speaker with a very high dB efficiency rating.

Amped I'm VERY impressed with the Pioneer REV's, but never tried them off HU power only.
