Help finding an 800w rms amp

Post by KingofChaos »

I currently have 2 Kicker CVR's installed, and until recently was powering them with a Diamond Audio 800.1. Unfortunately, due to my uhh fiddling, a resistor burned out in the DA 800.1, and I'm looking for another 800w rms amp. So far I've found the Alpine MRP-M850, MTX Audio Thunder TC8001, and JL Audio A1800. I'm a big fan of DA, so I was considering a D3 1000.1 but I would rather not overpower them to 1000w, but its looking more and more like that may be the case.

A good 600w amp should also be in consideration. Subs don't need their full RMS to perform well. You probably won't hear a difference in 100w anyway (when dealing with larger numbers anyway).

What load do you have the subs wired to?

I think the Diamond D3 should be fine. What is the budget you are on?
