For Alpine Type R's, a 1000-1200rms amp would work well. Scarrell is puting, i think, 600rms on his 1 12".

I'm building a custom box that will fit the trunk of my car so it'll be pretty sweet. I'll look into those subs and probably a memphis amp.. any wattage recommendations?

you can buy plenty with that! If you are looking for SQL then i would totally go with 2 Alpine type r 12" in a Ported box prolly 3 cuft i think Scarrell has a good box design for that u can PM him for that. And as far as an amp u would still have at least 650 left for an amp so you can get a nice 2 ch amp of your liking, maybe a Hifonics amp, Memphis Audio, or a Kicker amp

I've got the entire back of a supercab truck for stereo, I'm looking for an SQL, my HU is a brand new pioneer with pretty decent EQ controls, and my wires are all high quality 0/1 ga wire for power except for remote, and the RCA's are top quality
