Wiring Question!

Most wiring is standard now a days. There are some oddballs out there still.

Now your adapter you bought that runs between the factory(cars) harness should have each wire labeled or came with a sheet that will tell you.

Likewise your head unit should come with a wiring schematic telling you what wire is what. If you DONT have the manual/schematic for the head unit find it.

What HU is it?

Usually the red wire is a switching 12V. THe yellow wires are constant power.

The reason your HU is reseting is because one of the constant 12V isnt hooked up or it isnt on a true 12V constant. Constant meaning there is 12V even when the car is OFF...
